Walking without Luggage
Walking through the forests and meadows without carrying your luggage and equipment is easy in ArberLand. There are special arrangements for making walking easy.
The Pandurs Way is in memory of the invasion of the Bavarian Forest by the Pandur Corps in 1742. Today the scimitar is the symbol of the historic route through the lower mountains of ArberLand. More than 250 years after the barbaric invasion by Trenck’s Pandurs, the Pandurs Way is one of the most delightful walks in Germany. more »
On the trail of the Celts. the Bohemian Way in ArberLand, alongside the Bavarian Way and Golden Way, is one of the oldest links between the Danube and the Vltava. The well worn path crosses the "Nortwald", from Deggendorf to Bayerisch Eisenstein. more »
Agricultural landscapes and vast mountain forests: the Glass Way has 6 sections, each taking one day, on mainly easy paths, through the Lam area, over the Arber mountains, into the Regen valley and along the edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park to Grafenau. more »
On the trail of St. Gunther: the Gunthersteig in ArberLand follows the route taken by the founder of the Rinchnach Monastery. From the Niederalteich Monastery on the Danube, the path crosses the Danube Valley, up to the village of Rinchnach and on to the small border crossing at Gsenget. more »
