The Kleiner Rachel
The 1399m high mountain is located near the Czech boarder. The Kleiner Rachel is the third highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest and is not visited as often as his big brother, the Großer Rachel. It is the right mountain for hikers that would like to enjoy the peace of the mountain world without being disturbed. It is located ca. 1 km north west of the Großer Rachel Bavarian Forest.
The summit cross with summit log is situated under the highest point. Here you can enjoy the wonderful view on the Zwieseler Winkel, the Großer Arber, the Falkenstein and the water reservoir damn Frauenau.
The Kleiner Rachel can be reached only by foot over different hiking paths, like for example via Oberfrauenau or from the station in Klingenbrunn.
In addition, it succumbs the order to stay on designated paths (unmarked path) and is according to the current National Park Order only accessible from 15.07. until 15.11., because it is in the core zone of the national park.
