Hirschenstein
description
The 1095m high Hirschenstein is in the municipality of Achslach and is covered with beech forest up to the summit. Its exposed position as well as the 7m high, rocky look-out on its highest point offers a unique panoramic view on the Bavarian Forest. Hischenstein and Schuhfleck. Together the thousand-meter mountains and the biggest hiking path crossroad make an unforgettable hiking pleasure in the ARBERLAND.
Always the Großer Arber, sometimes even the Alps
The view ranges in the East from the Großer Arber to the Dreisessel, in the South it is the area of Deggendorf to Straubing and in the West to the Gallner. At good weather conditions you can also recognize the Alps from the Dachstein to the Zugspitze at some days.
Hiking Path Crossroads Schuhfleck
Many ways lead to the Hischenstein. To be precise: from the Schuhfleck there are four. The Schuhfleck on the other hand is known as the biggest hiking path crossroad near and far. Nine paths meet here from different cardinal points and places like Kalteck, Bernried, Grandsberg, Rettenbach and Sankt Englmar.
